A functional tea infuser. The bottom comes off so you can insert the tea leafs. The top piece is fold formed and resembles a tea leaf in its original form. Silver wire attaches to the leaves and travels down through the geometric forms to represent a root going down into the base of the infuser.

I was playing with the idea of tea and representing it in its original form before any manufacturing.

I used 18gage sterling silver sheet and silver wire (forgot what gage of wire I used). On this piece I drilled holes for the first time on an uneven surface. I learned from it and hope to do better in the future.

Daily Deviation*Stavros-1 has created a tea infuser in silver and I think it represent functional and beautiful art in an absolutely gorgeous way! The sleek design and the mix of organic and clean lines makes Tea-rific plain terrific! (Featured by `Myana)

nice to see another picture of your tea leaf holder. Quite an original idea I must say. and the leaf on top compliments the piece very well giving an organic feeling to an already asymmetrical piece. Again nice job!

Cool! I know a couple of tea-lovers who'd kill for something like this~

Thanks for the comments.
Thanks for the feedback. I'd like to know what they think about it so I can develop my design better.

this design is beautiful and elegant. I can just imagine seeing a little silver tea plant 'growing' out of my tea cup!
Your thoughts are appreciated and I'm glad I could make a spark for a fellow artist.
Thanks Tessa for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Beautiful art is one thing, but beautiful, functional art is something wonderfully transcendental. This is a gorgeous piece that speaks on many different levels. Thank you for posting it.
